Quick-scoping

Post by DTLA Jager on Fri May 21, 2010 1:07 am

I've finally started doing it online.. I figured now that I'm back I'd try something different, like a fresh start. Damn, quick-scoping is fun AND effective!

Got 5 Quickscopes/hardscopes in about 7 seconds on Favela.. At A flag up on the ledge with the trees, they poured into that area and needless to say it was awesome..

This is something I have never been able to get the hang of. I can never get the timing right.

What perks do you use as well?

Ive done alot of it and Im not to bad at it.

I Usally use the Intervention, I have found perks dont make alot of difference really Stedy aim helps and but Id never give up my ninja pro. Slight of hand is a must.

Takes alot of pratice we will have to have a private game quick scoping so we all can pratice

Sleight of Hand Pro is a must, and so is Stopping Power. So perks really do matter, I use Steady Aim for the occasional no-scope. Matti, we are struggling to get together to work on our team let alone luxuries like quick-scoping Razz I quick-scope whenever I play split-screen with friends, just to practice..

I didn't think a sniper rifle needed stopping power, unless it had a silencer?

Base damage of all sniper rifles is 70 and if you hit the enemy in the head or chest then there is a 1.5 multiplier, meaning you would do 105 damage (stopping power would be wasted). If you hit someone in a limb, then the multipler is 1.0 and if you add stopping power (40% increase), then you would only do 98 damage, still requiring 2 shots to take the enemy out. Am I missing something?

SOH pro makes perfect sense. Is steady aim required for quick-scoping?

Don't need steady aim, needed for no-scopes though.. Maybe you are right.. Limb-shots get me kills quite often though, I just see all the pro's using SP so I play alone; they know what they are doing after all.

I've seen a couple of the OpTics quick-scope matches on youtube and they all use intervention's with stopping power. I just don't understand why they use stopping power. I couldn't imagine them wasting a perk though.

I might give this a blast next time I'm online.

I thought I was pretty good at quick-scoping, then I played with a friend and all of his friends in a quick-scope S&D.. Oh man, it was about 5v5/6v6 and some of them were amazing.. They gave out whenever a game-winning kill wasn't a 360spin followed by no-scope or a bullet penetration across the map.. They were all about 12 and making me look bad so I rage-quit Smile

Ok so I had a go at quick scoping again.

I used the intervention, with SOH pro, stopping power pro and steady aim pro. In about 4 games I got about 3 quick scopes (I did get 5 no scopes though, the ones you really hope the other person watched the killcam!), if i was any good at it, that should have been nearer to 15 quick scopes. I just suck at quick scoping. I just can't get it right with any consistancy. I might try and get some pointers off my 15 year old nephew, who is disgustingly good at it.

However I had forgotten how much I enjoy using the Intervention. In those 4 games, my KDR must have been close to 3.

Always be conscious of where your cross-hairs are aimed, and you need to know where you will be looking when you scope so you can either twitch your aim toward the enemy or just be on him already.. Just takes practice!

I still have a smile on my face, when I did that quick-scope on rundown and everyone was watching! I guess I just need to practice a lot.

I noticed Delta got a game winning kill with a half-scope and was more accurate than me when I hard scope!

I think we should have a quick-scope match, just to practice so we are competent when we are on the move with our snipers.. It's just another aspect of the game that could only be beneficial to learn, and we wont feel so useless when we are last alive in S&D with our interventions Razz

This would be good fun. Next time we're all online, we'll go into a private match and a FFA.

To do quick-scoping on search, you have to be really good at it. Got to kill within 2 shots. Otherwise you're an easy target.

However it is hard to play against a decent team of quick-scopers though.

I zoom right in, I'll drag if I have to also. I consider those half-scope shots to be as accurate as no-scopes anyways

If I ever manage to do a quick scope, you'll just hear me laughing down the mic, probably for a good minute as well, til the streams of tears have stopped blurring my vision. It's so rare that I manage to do a quick scope on purpose, that I would just call it a fluke!

Quick scoping when you're the last alive is such a stupid thing to do. I've seen it quite a bit lately as well. It's frustrating having to watch these idiots lose you the game and then they do it again and again.
