First GB match

Post by DTLA Jager on Sat Jul 24, 2010 8:07 pm

Epic fail. We lost 2-1, and we didn't have who I would've liked to have had. I'm not gonna mention any names but I'm not too happy.

We sucked, regardless of what players we had we shouldn't have been that bad. We weren't a team, simy was the only person following the plan with me.

But anyway, it's all about learning for the first few games. I even had the wrong class setups at first, cold-blooded was useless but I had it for the first game.. Another thing I learned is that you can't rush-plant the bomb, you have to kill at least 3/4 people first. Heartbeat sensor=completely useless, I'd be surprised to see someone on GB without Ninja Pro.

Most importantly; it's COMPETITIVE. Everyone we play will be a good team so everyone needs to adjust their playstyle for it. Basically slow down but still pushing and working together strategically. I'd like to thank you Simy for working closely with me and trying to get the others to follow the gameplan.

alot of the guys we had today are quite new and still need to learn to follow orders etc. I think wedone well considering we didnt have the guys we have played with for months i.e. Jimmy and matti etc. Carlton went positive most games and ownage done well. The guys just need some direction.

CuT You with his 1-sensitivity thermal 50.cal was really annoying to me, lost us a few rounds. Carlton did well, got plenty of kills. Ownage seemed to sit back with his intervention a bit too much for my liking. But you're right, it was a VERY last minute make-shift team; two of the guys aren't even on our GB roster. Might do a match 8pm Sunday, like the original plan. Most the guys seemed up for that more so than this one.

yeah my fault.
need to work on some other classes. will try the scar h silenced for gamebattles.
if u say i did well then ur lyin! most of that was my fault and i admit that!
i NEVER used to play search, i used to always play domination, team deathmatch or private match free for all.
so i am not that used to search so i've been practising alot with the intervention and scar h.
dont get on my back for not talking much during gb, i get pissed off alot so i dont talk and try not to punch the wall Very Happy.
i am getting better at notifing places on maps, still need a little help tho.
whens our next clan match??
we should try and practise by getting the uk/ireland vs the us in private matches once a week or more. what do you guys think??

I would'nt say it was your fault, dude, no one was outstanding, we should have all been in a lobby 15 mins prior to the match, to discuss what classes we were all using, and assigning roles, and running over the maps we were about to play etc. In future i think that we need to going through the maps as a team and letting everyone no each place for call outs etc.
Ownage the only thing you need to work in is communication and playing the objective, if you can learn to quickscope and play the objective then we are onto a winner. Very Happy

Chin up guys, it was our first match, and it was a learning curve. Everyone on the GB team should at least be running ninja. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Those US guys are messed up to be honest, can't rely on them to be on at certain times. Well I really appreciate your attitude ownage, I know it's a lot of change for you but every one of us is still learning.. I'm certain we will only improve on that result. A lot was wrong.. No time to talk/change classes, messy team and our first game which we can consider experimental.

i was doing quite bad with the sniper because i used ninja instead of steady aim which makes quickscoping alot harder! i am orite with it and i am improving with it everyday lol.
if we get alot of our clan ( the uk/ireland side) into one game we could practise search .

Well we now have our first win out of the way, although it's not confirmed on GB yet because those guys we played are arseholes and saying they won..

I don't really care though, we won and I'm happy. I don't want to sound like an ass, but we shouldn't be rotating players on the team. We lost two games when we let everyone play, and when we actually had a choice of players and chose only 4 we won quite comfortably. Might just be co-incidence, but I don't think so. KneeSliders and Lloydy owned quite a lot when we won, and Simy won us the last game with about 8 kills.

We could even make 2-3 GB teams, and that way each team can get comfortable with each other.. It's only going to help.

yeah having a few teams is a bood idea. that way everyone gets involved and we can get comfortable playinb with each other. I thought we raped last night. I was a good distration that first match on wasteland, you picked them off as the tried to get me lol.
Those guys were dicks, we need to start taking screens coz i think the majority of people will be dickheads if they get beat.

Yeah I agree with all of that.. We did well in that game! We were actually perfect on wasteland, kneesliders watching our back (pretty well too, saved me once or twice) and 3 of us pushing up. Simy that move we do going around that hedge by the bomb is awesome, almost always clears out the bombsite.. I'll sort out the teams when Im on laptop, but any teams I'm not in are not my responsibility. Someone else needs to step up!

Yeah matti or jimmy could take a team, the could just make it DTLA 2 or something. we could all be on each teams roster incase of a player shortage. We could play each other as well lol.

Yeah i think big maps suit our style of play at the moment, i dint think any of us handled the tac knife rushers on that scrapyard game. I will assusme that if a team doesnt want claymore then they will more than likely be rushers lol. Suub base was a great game, we aere tactically flawless.

Wow a lot of shit has happened over the weekend...

I completely didn't know there was a GB match Saturday night. I wouldn't have been able to make it anyway and I had already ruled myself out of the Sunday match.

It sounds like the first game was not well organised, however I don't think we should take too much from the result, but we seemed to have learnt a lot from it, which is exactly why it was a good experience to have. You should never blame one person for a teams defeat... so ownage it wasn't your fault, just learn what you can and be a better player next time.

Saturday was kinda a last-minute thing.. We had 6 of us on so just went for it.. KneeSliders left just before and Lloydy was watching a movie then we just about got 5. We have an idea of the standard and the playstyle necessary now though, I think we will do well from now on.

Yeah we will, but we need to learn to cope with rushers, i usually deal them a shotgun blast to the face, but we cant use shotguns.

Ah the first thing we should be doing is getting into strong defensive positions, so their rushers SHOULD just get owned. The having-a-partner idea is important for this too, you need to rely on someone to watch your back so you can watch somewhere else safely.
